New Applicant's Guide

Welcome to the Symphony of Storms New Applicant's Guide! We appreciate your interest in applying to our legion. Due to the overarching focus of our legion, we screen our applicants thoroughly to ensure the best possible fit. While we don't wish to scare anyone away, we are only looking to recruit players solely interested in the unique experience we have to offer, and a dedication to completing the application process is necessary.

Please keep in mind that Symphony of Storms is primarily a roleplaying legion, and we will be looking for members who display an understanding of this and a desire to participate, while also playing a character that fits within the given, appropriate boundaries of Aion lore. Symphony of Storms does not at this time have a level requirement. However, most of our members are 30+.

Also note that we have an age requirement of 18 or older. Underage applicants will only be considered if sponsored by an existing member who already meets the age requirement -or- the applicant displays above-average credibility. However, knowing someone within the legion if you are a minor does not guarantee you entry.

Further more, it is required that all applicants apply with their main characters. While Symphony does host the alts of several members within the legion, we ask that your commitment to our legion remain with your most frequently played character. We will not accept "alts" of individuals in other legions.

Below is an overview of the steps involved in applying.

Four-Step Recruitment Process

* Step One: Read Through Available Legion Resources

We expect our applicants to be familiar with each of the threads posted to the Legion Information subforum. We also expect that our applicants have read through this guide and understand what information we will be looking for in the answers to our application questions, and are familiar with common roleplaying etiquette.

* Step Two: Fill Out Your Application

After reading through the legion's resources, applicants will be equipped with a full understanding of what our legion encompasses and what is expected of them as a member. Applicants may then fill out our application questions as outlined in this guide. Once an applicant has submitted his or her application, it will be forwarded to a private forum where our members will review it and provide their input for a number of days. Please note that incomplete applications will be immediately declined. Check the email belonging to the email address that you applied with regularly. Acceptance and declination notifications will be sent there.

* Step Three: IC and OOC Interviews

Following a favorable review of an application, applicants will be contacted via PM in game to arrange for both an In-Character and Out-of-Character interview with an officer of the legion, so checking up on your PM box is important! These interviews will cover any additional questions stemming from an application, gauge an applicant's personality and character depth, and give applicants an opportunity to have their own questions or concerns addressed. It's a good IC foot-in with at least one officer of the legion as well. Applicants must complete both interviews favorably in order to continue on to step four. Failure to reply to officer requests to arrange interviews will result in a decline after about two weeks.

* Step Four: Induction Ceremony

After successfully completing the interviews, the applicant will be invited to attend an induction ceremony in his or her honor held before a legion meeting. Meetings occur on Tuesdays at 9:00 PM ET and on Saturdays at 6:00 PM ET. The applicant will then receive his or her OOC legion tag and IC cloak, communication shard, IC rulebook, and a dormitory of their own located in the Symphony District of Vanahal.
