re: Weekly Meetings

Postby Isceroth on Tue Feb 02, 2010 1:12 pm
((For a few days now, I've been asking everyone for their weekly availability, in order to begin scheduling weekly meetings. These meetings, I feel, will help to boost our activity and the general unity within the entire legion, both OOC and IC. The meetings will be BOTH, and both IC and OOC will tie in with one another.))

((That being said, it seems that the best day for the legion to meet would be Thursday at 8:00 PM EST. That's every Thursday from here on out, unless otherwise indicated.))

((The first will be held at Apellbine Tavern in the separated room (unless it's occupied--then we move to the upper floor of the main building in Vanahal). Read below for full details, IC.))

<The following is a message posted on a bulletin board in the middle of Symphony's sector of Vanahal.>

Azphelumbra,

Our legion has endured many trials, and each that it has encountered, it has overcome. I fear today that we are facing another trial, and that it is an internal one. Our cooperation is withering. Our communication is quieting. Our unity is suffering. And as a whole, our legion is becoming weak.

I propose that we counter this with regular meetings amongst ourselves. The first, I wish to be held within Apellbine tavern, in the meeting room just beside the bar counter. I will provide spirits in order to ensure a relaxed and friendly atmosphere during this meeting.

Please note that it will be the first of many, every Thursday, at eight in the evening. At these meetings we will discuss what must be done to hold true to the tenets of the legion--to defend Asmodae, and promote her culture throughout the land. To act as catalysts for a better Asmodae, and to ensure her prosperity.

Blood for Blood is not an empty saying. Though it is subject to interpretation, I sincerely feel that it implies a loyalty to one's own kind. Please remember this when you think of the legion to which you are sworn.

Blood for Blood,
Isceroth Atrios

Brigade General,
Symphony of Storms

[[TLDR; Regular meetings will be held every Thursday at 8:00 PM EST. The first, on February 4th, will be in the side room of Apellbine Tavern, and future locations will be announced as more meetings approach. The meetings will be mostly IC with some OOC discussion on the side.]]

((I like the idea of weekly meetings, and the time works out just fine for me. I'll definitely be there for the first, and all those that come after that I can make it to, which, barring cataclysmic events, should be just about all of them. See you all there!))

~~~~~
Repth strode across the courtyard toward the bulletin board, fidgeting with his glasses as they slipped down his nose yet again. He'd been meaning to get them fitted for some time now, but of course something always came up. His silver eyes scanned the familiar parchments, detailing various events and regulations, before falling upon a new page, less faded than the others.
As he pushed his glasses up for a second time, staring through the orange lenses, Repth carefully read the page, making sure to force himself to think in Asmodian as to not miss any details; a common issue for him when dealing with the written word in the new tongue. He frowned slightly as he read, the page affirming some of his suspicions as of late. Although he had not been a member of the Symphony of Storms for that long of a time, he felt that lately, as Isceroth's careful writing detailed, there had been a distance growing among his legion mates... and it was not one he was happy to see.
His eyes finishing their careful journey down the page, Repth paused for a moment, thinking, before reading the page again, faster this time, top to bottom. Although the news was no less grim upon this second investigation, he allowed himself a private smirk. Isceroth? Seeking a "relaxed and friendly atmosphere?" Perhaps the spirits required would be more than his brother expected.
Stepping away from the bulletin board, he reached a clawed hand into his hauberk's inner pockets, producing a small, leather-bound field notebook and charcoal pencil. He flicked it carefully open to a page covered in other names and dates (in Atreian script, naturally) and scrawled a small, but neat reminder to himself of the time and location. He'd be sure to be there, in the hopes that these meetings would bring him closer to his brother, and to his legion.
Repth snapped the cover of the notebook closed, quicky returning it and the pencil to their pocket inside his hauberk. He tugged swiftly on the straps holding the chain mail in place, tightening it from a comfortable fit to one that would better serve to protect him during his practice session to come. He turned to face the entrance to the Symphony of Storms' quarters, gave his hauberk a strong yank to check the fit, and then glanced over his shoulder once more at the bulletin board with an optimistic slight smile, before confidently strolling out of the courtyard. Maybe this is just what they needed, after all...
Aryienne glanced idly at the message board, and stopped to read Isceroth's post. She read it slowly, to make sure she understood it all and then sighed. She wasn't sure she was ready to just jump into being with everyone quite yet, but she had told him she would be there.
Physically she was 100% there, emotionally...well, she was still burying that part. With Lady Grael's disappearance, Kit's distance and now Zendrago...it left her feeling rather apart from everyone. Maybe this meeting will help. Maybe just seeing those who cared for her would give her back some of her confidence. After Lord Isceroth's stance on her staying with the legion, she would offer him every assistance she could. Perhaps it would be a good time to show him that her loyalties did indeed rest with the legion. It was the least she could do. He had saved her.
Mastiff wandered about the city, having recently returning from the Abyss with Isceroth and Ary. A meeting, eh? Might be a pretty good idea, with all the odd stuff going on lately. With all of the projects that Maliqua had gotten herself wrapped up in, he was sure that she wouldn't be able to make it, but he figured that he could fill her in on all the interesting details ... if there were any.
A thought crossed his mind, stopping him in his tracks. Perhaps he just might have something to say to those who were still around. Of course, the boss had to agree to let him speak, but still ...
Humming a familiar tune as she strolled from her quarters within Vanahal, Vizelle paused, blinking in the doorway as the bright morning light briefly blinded her. Her eyes closed, she inhaled a deep breath of crisp air before continuing on her way. She lazily meandered past the bulletin board, noticing a white, fluttering piece of parchment pinned there. Vizelle stopped, blaring her tired eyes at the words printed on the page. She had to re-read it a few times before the message sank through her sleep-clouded mind, causing a slight frown to tug on her lips.
She let out a sigh, thinking to herself how true the words rang. She had been troubling herself lately with working out the details in regards to her mother and father's strange illnesses, and ultimately, deaths, so much so that she realized how greatly she had neglected to engage herself with the rest of the legion. Her frown dissipated into a blank stare as a feeling of guilt began to twist in her stomach.
'I suppose it's high time I rejoin the world... my mother and father can wait,' she thought to herself, tearing her eyes away from the page to look up at the still-lightening sky. 'My new family needs me more.'
