Officer Profile

Character Name: Repth
Real Name: Zach
Which Name I Prefer To Go By (OOC): I am fine with either. I usually would prefer OOC to be called "Repth" ingame, but some people like to use real names on Ventrilo and I am perfectly fine with that.
Class: Cleric

About Me:
I'm 21, male, and currently live near the Chicago metropolitan area in Illinois. I'm not in school right now, which is somewhat unusual for my age but I'll be heading back once I get some other family and etcetera issues sorted out. I live with my family, so I occasionally draw parent aggro, or aggro from my three siblings (a brother and two sisters) but I'm thankful I get to spend time with them, I love them all a lot. I'm not working during the winter season, but during the summer I spend a lot of time working at a Renaissance festival just north of me in Wisconsin, and occasionally do work at a local bookstore here, or volunteer my time in the library in the local suburb where we live. Boring and nerdy, yes, but I love all of it to death and not afraid to admit it!

My History with the Legion:
Initially I was an enemy of the state... an evil Elyos bastard out to destroy all of- no, not really. I rolled initially on Lumiel as an Elyos, and was first the Bridgade general of the #70 ranked Elyos legion Cadenza. Then, after many of us decided to integrate into a larger legion or return to games we previously played as a group, I became a member and then later acting bridage general of the number one ranked Elyos (and server) legion, Wolf Pack. After a lot of drama that I didn't really want to deal with, and the GMs screwing over Wolf Pack, I decided I'd had enough and was going to reroll Asmodian. I met several members of the Symphony before I rerolled through some friendly exchanges in the abyss directed by a member of Cadenza who had initially rolled Asmodian, and decided I liked them enough to try RPing on the Asmodian side and joined Symphony of Storms immediately upon rerolling.

Since then, I've dedicated myself to PvPing for the greater good of the faction and the legion, and having had tons of practice in the top ranked legion Elyos side, I've made plenty of progress here on the Asmodian side of the world. This, combined with my previous experience leading and managing guilds and legions accross several games landed me where I am today; a Centurion and PvP officer of <Syphony of Storms>.

My History with MMORPGs:
I've played several MMORPGs in the past, beginning with a highly player-economy and player-management based game, (DON'T LAUGH, I'LL CUT YOU) Puzzle Pirates! which sounds horribly childish, and looks it initially, but is a MMO-Puzzle game, based around cooperative work at different real time puzzle tasks to run a rough and tumble band of pirates on the seven seas. I was a leader of a large alliance of players there, over 250 separate users, and had a wonderful time for several years throughout high school.

Following Y!PP, I was introduced in my Junior year to GuildWars, which was what most people would call my first "Mainstream" MMORPG. I immediately fell in love with both playing a warrior and a monk (healer) in GuildWars, and was eventually recruited into a age 25+ PvP guild even when I was only 17 years old. They made an exception for me, and I worked hard, rising through the ranks to eventually be a officer and important member of our PvP roster.

Following GuildWars (I still play to this day, but I am a much less active member of the community and PvP scene), I flickered through several F2P MMORPGs due to my limited college budget, and generally having beaten everything available to do in GuildWars in every expansion. Just to name a few, I played MapleStory(NEVER AGAIN), La Tale, Grand Chase, and Tales of Pirates! before landing in a game I truly enjoyed, Nexon's Mabinogi.

Mabinogi is a cel-shaded MMORPG with no class or level restrictions, based almost entirely on Player-skill versus Character-skill. The combat is based around real time reaction and timing, and requires a lot of practice to become good at. A large secondary portion of Mabinogi is the ability to import music written in a special programming language and then play it ingame using string and wind instruments, like a medieval bard or minstrel. Through this mechanic I met a large group of like-minded individuals, and formed a large guild of musicians and adventurers, Cadenza. As a guild we played Mabinogi, Audition (another Nexon MMOG, based around mechanics similar to Dance Dance Revolution), and GuildWars (again), before moving to try Aion. And here I am!

What I Bring to the Table as an Officer:
I bring extensive experience as a leader or officer of a successful legion or guild in nearly every game I've ever played, as well as previous practice in PvP settings and giving orders under pressure. I enjoy teaching others how to PvP as well, and that I also see as a large asset that I bring to the legion.

I still roleplay, but I'm not as practiced as some of the other officers are, so I'm willing to RP with all new members and new RPers, but for any specific suggestions, I'm probably not the first to ask, though I'm always willing to help!

Preferred Method of Contacting Me: I use AIM and MSN regularly, which are Shinyschmo and Shinyschmo@yahoo.com respectively. YES, that is MSN, not a yahoo address, so add me normally as if you were using a @Hotmail account. You can also naturally email me at that address, though I don't check it often-- you're probably better off using a PM here on the forum or an ingame mail if I'm offline. My cellphone number is available on request with a worthy reason, and at least one other officer will have it to contact me if need be and you do not have it.
